Morning all,
Well we went to get some chickens yesterday afternoon. I wanted
three hens of the same breed, but my 3 year old girls had other
ideas. Anyway they picked the ones out that they wanted.
We came home with,
one, Light Susex,
one, speckledy,
one, Warren,
All three seem in very good health. The lady showed me how to clip
there wings and she let me do them. She was really nice to the
twins and showed them how to hold the hens, They have a great times
as she let them hold a hen each. Plus the small holding had ducks,
rabbits, chickens, Some small dogs that were loose (the twins
wanted one but only came home with chickens!) There was also this
great big turky there! Iv never seen one as big! Looks a great
place up there and im sure that ill be haveing more dealing with
the place going forward. They do hoildays for your chickens too.
There is some after sales service too where you can phone/email
them if you have any problems/worries/or need advice.
Anyway very please with the place and with the hens...
If anyone would like a link to the place that i had them from then
just ask and ill post one if its allowed.
Thanks to everyone who has given bit a bit of advice over the last
couple of days im sure i will be needing some more at some
point.
Ill try and sort out some photos to post.
Richard

kids love places like that. my neighbour has a little girl thats
comes now and then she walks straight in and asks if she can go see
the farm (my back garden)
my neices spend hours down the garden watching the chickens and
ducks i think they would camp in with the chickens if i let
them.
glad you found a really good place they can be hard to find

Its looks a great place for kids, its muddy, there is a large
pond thats been dug out and it very natral looking. You have lots
of animals walking around free, no cages. A few barns were the
chcikens live a barn by the lake for the ducks. It was raining
when we were there so it would have been better if it was dry. Im
not sure were that big turcky lives, but he was pend in around
the lake with the ducks while we were there.

Hi Richard.
I have just moved this topic to the 'General Poultry' section of
the forum, as I thought it would be more appropriate there.
Thank you.
Regards
Jamie.
