Hi everyone,

My name is Richard im 31 and a dad of 3 year old twin girls. I Live in stourbrigde, west midlands.

Im new to the hobby. My coop is on order and should be with me soon. Not sure what breed of hens we will be getting yet. Still looking into that. Our Hens will be kept as pets and for there eggs. Im looking to start off with three hens and then build up over time.

Iv had a quick look around the site and from what iv seen it looks great. Im sure i will get on well here and all the great info will be of great help for me.

Hi all,
My coop came today! all fixed up now and im pleased with it.

Here is the link to one thats like the one that i have http://www.chickencoopsdirect.com/chicken-coop.htm
Mine is the same apart from that its a little bigger and will take 4 hens.
Im only looking to start off with 3 hens.

(Hope no one minds me posting the link)

Im also fenceing off part of my garden. To place another bigger chicken coop in so over time i can build up the number of hens that i have. I am only going to start off small and then build up over time.

Thtas about the same as i wont to do. I wont to learn all about the chickens first before i take on too many.
I also intend to clip the hens wings so when we are at home they can be let out of there coop for a bit and have a bit more room to walk about. This i hope will help with bordom and stress. Once iv got a good size pen built for them then im not sure if i will still do this or not.

How many hens do you have ? and what are they?
