Hi everybody I am new to the forum I keep Marans and RIR, my
question is are the chicks from a blue maran cock and a RIR hen sex
linked, have eggs pipping and would hate to despatch pullets.

I think you mean Can you autosex these chicks (tell cocks from
hens at birth?)
I am not 100% but think that the autosexing goes with the male so
would have had to have been RIR cockerel and Marans hen to work.
You would be able to tell if you you have 2 types of chick
colouring (but not if they are male or female as I am not sure
how reliable it is with Marans cock and RIR hen.
Sex linkage is what you get with eg Laced Wyandottes when the
lacing gene is carried by one parent only to give the offspring a
laced appearance.
Don't think I've helped at all x
