Hi I have only been keeping chickens for about a month, but i
really love it! they are so rewarding and thats not just with eggs,
they have such odd things that they do, they constatly make me
laugh :) I have 8 hybrids 3 of which are Bluebells.

I totally agree Caretaker, they fascinate me! People who don't have
chickens often don't understand just how much personality they
have!

They're time-wasters! You just catch sight of something happening,
watch for a minute and half-an-hour disappears! They do it on
purpose, you know...

The best thing (and I know not everyone can keep cockerels) is
watching a doting boy find things for his ladies to eat, cluck
about with it in his beak and place it down for them! Beautiful!

I don't think that a cockerel is in our future, when we stay at my
fathers place in Lincoln his one drives us mental! for some reason
thinks that 2 am is dawn and then 3 am is dawn and so on and so
forth! and it's ok for him to have that as his village only has
about 15 houses in it spread over a mile! My Neighbours would have
me shot if they heard that every morning/night.

I love waking up early but not that early!! I keep mine shut in
till 8 o,clock so all I can hear is a muffled croak. Neighbours are
not that close luckily and like chickens!
