Hi,
Up until 3 weeks ago we had 7 lovely chooks:, 2 warrens, 3 black
rocks, an amber star and a bluebell. One of the warrens (aged about
3 and 1/2) became quiet and withdrawn died within a couple of days.
She didn't really have any other symptoms. About 3 days after she
had died we noticed our other warren looking a bit seedy. She was
vomiting and had yellow diarrhoea. When we felt her crop it was
full so we self diagnosed her with sour crop and isolated her and
treated her with natural youghurt and garlic for a week. She seemed
to get a bit better initially but then went very quickly downhill
and died. Now 2 days after she died, one of the black rocks is
looking ill. She's not vomiting but has yellow diarrhoea. She's not
eating but otherwise has no other symptoms. The other 4 look really
well and I can't work this out. They have been wormed and de-mited.
Does anyone have any ideas. We're getting very anxious about our
girls.
Thanks!

If you have wormed and de-mited I should contact your vet. Call in
advance to check they are happy to see a chicken. If 2 of your cats
had died you would not wait to see if any more died before seeing
the vet.
Even viruses can result in secondry systemic bacterial infections
in hens (due to their anatomy, thin cell barriers in their gut)
This can very easily kill the bird.
Chickens are often very sick before you notice any changes.
Good luck, I hope you don't lose any more
