Most leyllandi are put through a chipper and used as ground cover in beds and borders etc to suppress weeds. They also weep a sticky resin when cut which is hard to remove as i know having cut enough down in my time, Birds feathering would get in a right mess if they came into contact with this resin, hope this helps.Smile

Leylandi are extremely poisonous to chickens & all mamals that eat it.

But once eaten, even before the poison has time to work, the needles can chock a chicken.
