Hi, I recently gave a cockeral a loving home from someone who didnt
love him any more and I have decided that my welsummer hens that i
hatched last year would be nice company for him and hopefully he
would earn his keep by taking a fancy to them and eventually
treading them. They are free range chickens but rather than taking
a fancy to the hens he seems to have taken a fancy to everthing
else such as the feeder and drinker. upturned plant pots and
anyting else he can get his claws on...!! quite embarassing I can
tell you. I have moved quite a few things from the area in which
they roam but to no avail he still seems to ignore my 2 hens,
except when he tries to show off by flapping his wings and then
crowing. He is around a year old I believe as he hadnt started
crowing when I got him. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get
him interested in my girls????

Hi Vikstix,
My first question, are the hens laying, if so he has already done
his job - several times & needs more hens
he has a high labido.
If the girls are not laying - then he wont waste his time.
