Has anyone tried Microcleanse? I've read that it kills all poultry diseases, is safe to use and leaves a protective barrier that lasts 90 days... seems like a good alternative but I've not used it before... can anyone help?

I did a google on microcleanse and came up with some info including the comment below. Microcleanse seems to be another name for Byotrol
It was added to DEFRAs list of disinfectants 3 years ago but seems to be used mainly in farming as a sanitiser.
IMO Poultry Shield is a good one to use - and it helps with the dreaded red mite.

Why NHS won’t use Byotrol

No Opinion

Maybe it because they know what’s in Byotrol and they are worried that the ingredients will become resistant. Especially QAC's (Quaternary ammonium compounds) one of the ingredients in Byotrol. QACs are fungicidal and bactericidal (less so against Gram-negative bacteria, but not sporicidal or tuberculocidal, and they show variable activity against viruses. They are inactivated by soaps, anionic detergents and organic matter. See link by Robin McKie, science editor of the observer back in 2009 http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2009/mar/29/detergents-drug-resistant-bacteria DYOR

Hi, i have only kept birds for 39 years, 3 years studying poultry and avian species at college 24 years in the poultry industry meat and egg management uk and canada. 10 years with HOMOEOPATHY and natural products. i make no medical claims. Always consult a vet. vets out of 7 years studying are lucky to do 6 weeks on birds, we use to get them through our college for 2 weeks. there are some great vets out there who specialise in avian species, power to their elbow. testimonies speak for themselves. happy to help. Keep it natural, always! www.allcreatureshealthcheck.com Colin.
