Hello,
I am an events organiser and organise workshops and discussion
group meetings for Poultry producers throughout Wales. Having never
produced poultry myself, I'm looking for inspiration on the sorts
of topics might be interesting to poultry producers. In the past, I
have arranged talks on poultry health and welfare by a local vet,
and brought in an egg marketing inspector to discuss changes in
poultry regulations. Other options I have considered were talks on
rare breeds, feeding and housing (though I've struggled to find
someone willing to give talks on these topics). Any suggestions?

Most thing people have issues with and I have to help them is
culling, that would help a lot of people. Especially on sick birds
but also unwanted males. Be careful wiht the word rare breeds Red x

Thanks for your suggestions Red, I will definately look into it.
Where do you think I might find the best advice on culling
regulations? I suspect it will be DEFRA (in Wales). Also, how do
you go about getting a Slaughter Licence? According to the DEFRA
website, 'Anyone carrying out killing or slaughter, by means other
than a free bullet, must ensure that the animal is restrained
appropriately and is stunned before slaughter'- do you need a
licence to stun also?
Thanks :)
