Just wondering what peoples views are on the best all round Bird, Hybrid or Pure?
I would say Pure, they are stronger healthier Birds and will lay you eggs for longer, the Hybrids burn themselfs out after couple of yrs and get far more problems because they are breed to lay unnatural amount. But thats my view what about everyone else?....

It obviously all depends on what specific purpose they are for, but in general I'd say pure breed birds tend to live longer and lay for longer, and for instance large fowl light sussex will lay well and make good meat birds, so they have all points covered. As hybrids generally tend to be for one specific purpose, i.e. egg laying or meat production, they are only generally kept commercially in large numbers for their good rate of food intake to meat/egg production. Hybrids can be useful in some situations, but I would personally always prefer to have pure breed birds, as they can still cope well with the job in hand if you pick the right ones.
