I would like to keep chickens on my allotment, & would welcome
advice on security & if it is possible to grow your own feed
for 2-3 chickens. As an enthusiastic newcomer I would welcome all
advice. Thank you, Neill.

Hi Neil,
We have all our chickens on land away from our house and sell to
alot of people that keep chickens on there allotments. All you can
do is build your fences as high as poss and dig the wire under the
ground so mr fox cant dig in, and always shut them away every
night.
As for food, you could feed them all your excess veg and maybe grow
some corn. But they would really need to be fed layers pellets if
you want a good steady egg surply.
Hope this helps,
Ang

Hi Neill,as mentioned above, more people are keeping hens on their
allotments.Either down to undersized gardens,or company whilst
spending time at the allotment. We have supplied hen houses to
several allotments and always advise having a complete enclosed run
(including roof),also perhaps a row of slabs or mesh around the
entire run. That and making sure they are safely in at night should
ensure happy mornings.
