So who's going on the 13th of Feb? I'm taking a a pair of crele
Orpingtons from David Pownall's line down and hoping to come back
with some more Seramas (not the rubbish you usually see in the pens
though).

Looked at the catalogue and there seems to be a huge number of
Pekins.

Yes, they certainly seem to be very fashionable at the moment, but
I don't blame people, I do love them!

I think they are great too but I do like to see a bit more variety.

Yes, I bought some French Copper Marans. Overall I thought the
prices were too high. A lot of people were paying far to much e.g.
legbars going for well over £20 a bird! There were also some
terrible quality Seramas that made over £15 a bird.

I found the prices high,a lot of birds I'd have liked to buy were
out of my price range.I saw a pair of Serama's,what was wrong with
them?I thought the hen looked nice.

Very long backs, poor combs, not great wing carriage. Out of them
one of the hens was better than the others but still only pet
quality. They would make ok pets but not for that money. Problem
is Serama are all about type and when people sell birds like that
and someone breeds them the eggs go on ebay and you have even
more poor quality birds. They should look more like this:
http://www.littleamericaminis.com/seramas/seramafact2.jpg or
look at Happylittlehenny's birds.

I thought prices were quite high too- which is good for the
sellers.
Overall quality of birds was deffo a lot better than the January
sale, but there wasn't really anything i really wanted/ needed
:)

Hi
I tried to put some birds and hatching eggs in for the March one,
sent the form and money off earlier this week and then i had a
phone call yesterday to say that it was completly full up and April one was already
half full.

At the last auction there were signs up saying they couldn't accept
any more hatching eggs for March as it was already fully
booked.
Shame that April is also nearly full.
