Hi everyone! I'm Bev Nelson and live in South Cheshire - completely mad about poultry. I only started keeping birds in 2004 but we now breed approx 300 birds a year. We are passionate about the breeds that we keep - Croad Langshans, Araucanas, Silkies, Polands, Booted Bantams (sabelpoots), Cream legbars. We love showing our birds and have had great success at local and championship level. We have met so many lovely people at the shows who have become good friends of ours. I love keeping poultry as it is something we can do as a family - the children show their birds as well and it is just a great day out for everyone. If people are hesitant about whether to keep poultry - we run poultry keeping courses to help newcomers - just be warned though it is addictive and some of our attendees last year have already gone on to show their birds and have had success already (maybe I should not give all my tips away!) Enjoy your birds and love this site so will be hopefully coming back time and time again to offer help and advice to anyone on here.
