Here is one of my tinyest serama boys, he's about 25 weeks old and weighs just under 300g. I showed him last weekend at his first show Sevensisters and he won his class, he was up against, Japanese and Belgians and judged by Adrian Knaggs.

I have been training him with the handle of a paintbrush which has an interesting red tip which catches his attention well and makes him pose well too.

He needs a little more confidence to hold his tail higher which he does when he is relaxed, so gotta train him to do it in the pen too! I think his front is more or less right though. Is movement is lovely and he walks with his wings in front of his legs. I just hope he's not too little to do his thing in the breeding pen next year.

Wow Julia, he looks lovely, well done! I don't know a great deal about Seramas to be honest, so it is brillant to see your lovely stock and for you to share this with us.

Really hope he will be successful in the breeding pen for you next year to!

Thanks.

Jamie.

Yes I have decided to breed males and females from 2 different lines. As this line seems to only breed decent cockerels. Females from this line are better breeding quality than for show. Cockerels seem to take while to mature but when they do, they look smart. I begged him and he has let me keep one incubator running, only trouble is my serama females have stopped laying!!!!Cry
And so have 3 Orp eggs in instead. Smile

Thanks Jamie, I do hope he is big enough to fill some eggs, some of these little lads are sometimes too tiny to tread the hens, but he's quite a tough little guy so lets hope when the time comes he sorts those girls out! Failing that, hubby is a carpenter, he'll have to build him a mini step ladder!!
