What were they?

I've just watched Countryfile on the BBC iPlayer. They showed a
"Chicken stands on the front plate to open the feeder" type of
feeder. It looks to be just what I want
Does anyone know the name of them, or where I can get hold of
one?

They're called Treadle Chicken Feeders. If you put that term into
your search engine, lots of them come up at various prices and
sizes.

doors.Nothing to do all day but scratch around, eat and drink.Sounds
appealing dont you think.

Yes, I saw the program too. They are called Grandpa's Feeders, we
got a couple when we realised how much we were feeding the rats and
crows. I didn't think it would work at first, but all that is a
thing of the past now because these feeders keep them out. There is
a website www.grandpasfeeders.co.uk and
you can order on-line, or on the phone, or send a cheque. The bloke
running it is really helpful, you can ring him up or email if you
have a problem. My first feeder arrived damaged, I rang him and
told him, and he sent a replacement the next day-I did have to send
the damaged one back, though he paid the postage. There is also a
12 month guarantee.
