They are RIR X Light Sussex and are living with 5 other hens who are all laying yet i am still waiting, however some things on the interent say they can start laying at 17 weeks old! They have quite big red combs and i can fit two fingers between their pelvic bones and still no eggs, anyone had the same problem or know how i can encourage them to lay!

You say they are with 5 other hens who are laying, but are you sure the eggs you get are their eggs and not the sex links?

Also, I have found that, whilst some hens may lay the odd egg early on, the majority seem to only be laying properly by 28 weeks. I would keep an eye on them, but, as long as they seem healthy in all other respects, I wouldn't worry just yet.
