I lost one of my girls today  but now i have spoken to my Game Keeper
he tells me it's "Gape" I have bought some flubenvet and have
started their treatment! too late though for one of my girls but
hopefully now i can save the others.

!!!!! So sorry TC,
I lost one too this morning! Crop bound, I tried everything but
couldn't relieve it.
Are you sure it was gape worm, the symptoms are, breathing
difficulty, gasping, head shaking, gurgling. Very common in
pheasants not that common in chickes but the the Flubenvet will do
it.

That sounds about right CL
I have to say it was devastating to see her laying there! and to
think it could happen to any more is horrifying But if my Game
Keeper says it's Gape i'm 99% sure he would be right. he keeps
about 100 chickens and each year brings on 3500 pheasant, so if
anyone is going to know, it's going to be him.

I swear by baycox which you can only buy from the vet. Its costly
but it is well worth it. I give my 4 weeks chicks baycox just to be
on the safe side.
