Hi guys.
Wondered if any of you attened the Salisbury Poultry Auction yesterday? and if so, did you buy anything?

I sold some quail and bought a trio aswell!

Prices seemed quite good for the quail, from what I heard.

Didn't go last Saturday but going on the 21st November, last one this year. Got a pair of breeding mandarins to sell and hopefully a pair of ringed teal but as they are young birds not sure yet if I have a drake or 2 ducks. Got the aution form to fill in but do I book 2 or 3 cages. Might bid for some doves while I'm there.

Hi Silkieman. Welcome to poultry talk. Hope you like it here. Mandarins are nice except sadly I cannot have a pond at the moment.

I am hoping to go but won't be selling as I have had some incubator troubles so this has slowed my hatching.

See you around.
Jamie.

Hi Jamie
Thanks for the welcome. Mandarins are only part of the bird collection we got here, getting a bit out of hand really. We have 4/1 miniature bearded silkies, great fertility rate even going through post over 90%. 4 different pairs of teal. 2 pairs of californian quail, bobwhites, japs and cpq, 3 pair of fantail doves', 14 diamond doves and 2 barbary doves, nearly forgot, 3 pairs of chipmunks but they can't fly lol.
Not sure yet how your forum works so haven't posted yet. Give me awhile and you wont stop me.

Again thanks for the welcome

Hi Clive.

Your welcome. As you can see the site is quite new and our membership quite small but hopefully should have some more advertising in the next couple of months. Have been in touch with the salisbury market about having an advert in the back of the catalogue for the poultry sales so that should bring some attention as well as other things in the pipe line, lol.

If you need any help, just email me, or send me a message. It is sort of like a social networking site for poultry keepers but with a forum. It should soon have a facebook feature meaning people can log on with their facebook accounts.

Sounds like you have an impressive collection, unfortunately Quail is all I have really at the moment but my collection has grown a lot in a year. Would like some Bobwhites and Californians but need to look at housing first.

Have 4 colours in the Chinese painted - Red Breasted, Blue Breasted, Silver, and Tuxedo/pied, and the Italians.

Speak to you soon.

Regards
Jamie.

I went and bought two white Pekin pullets and one milli Pekin pullet. Also picked up another pair of Serama (private, not the rubbish they had for sale at the auction, some weren't even Serama!) and a trio of MGBs. Anyone going to the one on the 21st?
